Bedroom Trends for 2018

Posted on 18th December 2017 by Robes & Rails

As 2017 draws to a close, many of us may be looking to give our homes a bit of a makeover ready for the new year. And what better way to add a new dimension to your home than by giving your bedroom a new look? What’s more, as 2018 looms even closer, there is a whole new set of interior design trends to choose from. From new colours to different furniture, 2018 is brimming with trends, any of which you can take advantage of for your bedroom.

With this in mind, this month the team at Robes and Rails will be providing you with some of our favourite interior design trends for 2018 which you can apply to your bedroom.

Gold

Where copper has been a big trend for the past couple of years, it is now being replaced with some altogether more regal, namely, gold. While copper was more a muted trend, gold is much more of a statement. However, don’t let this put you off, gold has a lot of staying power and has featured in interior design for thousands of years. Although it did fall out of favour in the early 2000s, you can rest assured implementing some gold accents in your bedroom will stand the test of time.

Here at Robes and Rails, we can help you integrate this trend into your bedroom with our bespoke service. We let you pick a colour scheme that suits you and a style to match, offering you advice where possible.

Violet

If gold seems a little too out-there for you and your bedroom, then when not try something a little softer like violet or lilac? Where indigo blue has reigned supreme for past few years, violet offers something a little more punchy, and would look perfect incorporated into a bed or wardrobe.

Minimalism

Despite the fact that minimalism in both fashion and interior design has been particularly prevalent for much of this decade, it’s still going to be a big trend in 2018. Minimalism, as you’re probably aware, is about doing more with less, and utilising a more neutral colour palette. This means keeping furniture to a minimum and using muted tones such as grey and white.

The team at Robes and Rails can help you create a bedroom that hits the minimalist trend. For example, teaming a sleek, unfussy sliding door wardrobe with a bed and headboard that utilises muted earthy tones will do the job perfectly.
